Service Description
Extractions refer to the removal of a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. This procedure occurs when the tooth is severely damaged, decayed, infected or causing crowding issues. Extractions are necessary to preserve oral health and alleviate pain or discomfort caused by damaged or problematic teeth. In some cases, extractions are followed by options for tooth replacement such as dental implants, a laboratory-made tooth, bridges or dentures to restore function and aesthetics. In certain a cases, a surgical extraction will be indicated by the dentist. Surgical extractions are indicated for impacted wisdom teeth, severely damaged teeth or teeth that haven’t erupted properly. While the procedure may involve more complexity and recovery time compared to a simple extraction, it is essential for preserving oral health and preventing further complications. Patients may experience some discomfort and swelling after the procedure which may be managed with proper post op care and medication.
